Company Description:
Albion-Little River Fire Protection District is a Fire Department located in Albion, California along the Northern California coast. The district provides the personnel and resources necessary to protect lives and property in the Albion and Little River Communities against threats from structural and wildland fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials releases and natural or man-made disasters.
Job Description:
This is a part-time, on-site role for an Administrative Assistant. A successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks such as maintaining accurate records of all office files, both physical and electronic for the Albion-Little River Fire Protection District. This position is also responsible for coordinating department schedules, and providing assistance to fire personnel and the public. This position requires a high level of integrity and confidentiality, and will support the Fire Chief as well as providing minor support for the Board of Directors, with any additional tasks needed. Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or equivalent experience in office administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Preferred minimum of 2 years administrative experience, preferably in a public safety or government setting. Preferred, but not required, fire or EMS experience with operations, organization and/or administration.
- Skills:
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computer software, including office productivity suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with record-keeping practices and data management.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of fire department operations and fire department terminology is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, detail oriented, and capable of maintaining composure under pressure.
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
Job Type: Part-time, minimum of 16 hours and maximum of 30 hours per week.
Salary Range: $22/hour to $24/hour DOE
